This project aims to restore vision through advanced optical neuro-stimulation techniques. By using holographic patterns to stimulate retinal neurons, it seeks to develop minimally invasive systems that could improve sensory perception in patients with retinal degeneration.
When natural sensory input is disrupted, as in outer-retinal degenerative diseases, artificial stimulation of surviving nerve cells offers a potential strategy for bypassing compromised neural circuits and substituting sensory perception.
