This project investigates the integration of advanced acoustic absorbers into engine structures to reduce noise in hot areas of aero-engines. By using a combination of metallic foam and perforate liners, it aims to enhance acoustic performance under varying flow and temperature conditions.
Conventional perforate acoustic liners are presently used in hot areas of aero-engines.
However, current liner technology regarding linear liners for engine intakes (“cold stream”) does not meet the thermal and other functional requirements valid for engine exhaust areas (“hot stream”).
