HOUSINGFREEDOM addresses the challenges faced by formerly incarcerated individuals during reentry into society, emphasizing the importance of housing as a support system. The project aims to develop innovative strategies for understanding and improving housing security for this population.
Today, the world’s prisons are home to circa 11.5 million people globally, an increase of more than 27% from 2000.
Post-incarceration is a major challenge that reflects and contributes to the broader systemic issues within the criminal justice system, expressed by high recidivism rates.
