This project combines solid state and ultracold atom physics to create a platform for cooling and trapping ultracold rubidium gases near novel atom chips. It aims to enhance control over interactions between atomic and solid state systems, facilitating advancements in quantum technology applications.
This project merges two very successful branches of science, solid state and ultra cold atom physics.
Although a combination of quantum systems from each of these fields is of great interest, interactions between the two fields remain rare.
