This project aims to develop a new type of neural interface to study and treat obesity by mimicking the vagus nerve's response to food intake. The technology will enable real-time monitoring of nerve activity, potentially leading to innovative treatments for obesity and related health issues.
Obesity is one of the greatest public health challenges of the 21st century.
Affecting over half a billion people worldwide, it increases the risk of stroke, ischaemic heart disease, diabetes, many cancers, depression and complications in pregnancy.
