IANES focuses on enhancing business process management by enabling organizations to model processes based on communication among individuals rather than traditional control flows. It aims to facilitate in-situ knowledge acquisition and collaboration within teams.
Subject-oriented Business Process Management (S-BPM) enables organizations to model and support their business processes along the flow communication among subjects (entities in an organization) rather than focusing on the global control flow like in traditional approaches (e.g. ARIS).People can thus describe their actual ways of performing tasks and are only required to know and describe their interfaces to other subjects.
