The project aims to establish a research and development center in Poland that connects local information and communication technology entrepreneurs with advanced research. It focuses on fostering collaboration and promoting a regional technology brand to enhance competitiveness and access to skilled professionals.
In 2006 two front runners of the ICT research in Poland, namely:
Poznan University of Technology and Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center decided to create together a new European class research and development centre called Wielkopolska Province Centre of Advanced Information Technologies (WCZTI).
It was entrusted a status of the province key project by the Marshal Office and the construction process started.
