This project focuses on understanding the role of the RNF4 protein in DNA repair mechanisms, particularly its interaction with ubiquitin and SUMO pathways. By identifying RNF4 targets and their functions, the research aims to enhance knowledge of DNA damage response.
The Ubiquitin (UB) and SUMO modification pathways have recently been shown to be important regulators of genome stability.
However, despite their significance, we do not have a detailed understanding of which repair proteins they modify, nor how they promote DNA repair.
