This project investigates the production of glazed ceramics in medieval al-Andalus, focusing on technology transfer and regional workshops. It aims to analyze the materials and techniques used, linking archaeological findings with social and political contexts of the time.
The project is designed to develop a much-needed approach to the study of glaze ware production in al-Andalus (Spain and Portugal) during the Middle Ages (9th-13th centuries).
