The project aims to develop imaging tools for studying protein interactions in cancer, particularly focusing on the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and its role in breast cancer. By employing advanced imaging technologies, the project seeks to identify biomarkers and improve treatment specificity.
The aim is to develop tools for imaging and characterising protein/protein and protein/RNA interactions in cancer using Designed Ankyrin Repeat Proteins (DARPins). DARPins are small, ultrahighly stable, antibody-like proteins that bind specific targets with high affinity in monovalent form and are readily engineered for site-specific chemical modification.
