This project explores how blood vessel formation is regulated during tissue development and repair. It focuses on the role of interstitial flow in growth factor signaling and aims to develop imaging tools to study vascular patterning in various physiological and pathological contexts.
Homeostasis of multicellular tissues relies on accurate match of vascular supply and drain to the needs of the tissue.
Multiple pathways are involved in detection, signalling and execution of the required steps involved in organization of blood and lymphatic vessels during embryonic development.
