This project aims to explore immune responses to neurodegeneration using zebrafish as a model. It focuses on understanding how immune cells react to dying neurons and whether these responses help or hinder disease progression.
Many neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, are progressive and incurable.
Much attention has been paid to understand the insults likely to kill neurons, such as reactive oxygen species and protein aggregation.
