The IMMUNO-TEX project aims to develop a novel therapeutic platform using tumor-derived immunostimulatory extracellular vesicles to enhance cancer immunotherapy. By generating these vesicles, the project seeks to improve T-cell activation and overcome resistance in patients with poorly immunogenic tumors.
Tumor immunotherapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) has unprecedented therapeutic potential, but its success is limited to a minority of patients with preexisting antitumor T-cell immunity.
For patients with poorly-immunogenic tumors, combinatorial immunotherapies are urgently needed.
