ImplantSens focuses on creating long-lasting implantable biosensors that can monitor glucose levels in diabetic patients. By addressing the challenges posed by the body's response to implants, the project aims to enhance the management of chronic diseases through improved sensor technology.
ImplantSens will develop long‐term stable implantable electrochemical biosensors by overcoming mass‐transport limited sensing schemes.
This is the major unsolved problem due to the formation of capsules by the foreign body response upon implantation of a sensor.
