The IN TIME project aims to develop an 'organ-on-chip' platform that mimics human tissue for toxicological testing, reducing the need for animal models. It combines micro-fluidics and bioelectronics for real-time monitoring of tissue responses.
There is a pressing need to move away from animal testing and animal models for the toxicological profiling of chemical substances and new drug formulations.
