The Index of Middle English Prose project aims to identify and catalog all surviving English prose texts from 1200 to 1500. It will develop a digital search tool to enhance access to these texts, accommodating spelling variations, and will produce a print volume based on the Cotton manuscript collection.
The Index of Middle English Prose (IMEP) is the most important reference tool for Middle English non-verse texts.
It seeks, for the first time, to locate and identify all surviving English prose texts composed between c. 1200 and 1500.
