This project explores ineffective erythropoiesis in sickle cell disease by studying the role of the GATA1 transcription factor under oxidative stress. It aims to restore GATA1 functions as a potential treatment and develop new cellular models for research and drug screening.
In this project, I will investigate ineffective erythropoiesis as a contributing factor and potential therapeutic target in the pathogenesis of sickle cell disease (SCD), one of the most prevalent genetic disorders in man and a global health problem.
