The project aims to modernize the railway signalling system in Europe by focusing on interlocking technologies. It seeks to enhance efficiency and reduce costs while ensuring compatibility with existing systems and promoting standardized practices across the railway network.
Due to the seamless guidance by rails, the railway system requires a dedicated signalling sub-system, whereby a major part of the functionality must be ensured and controlled on the infrastructure side.
