This project investigates the role of the p53 homolog p73 in airway inflammation, focusing on how it regulates the innate immune response and mRNA stability of inflammatory cytokines. The research aims to enhance understanding of airway diseases and develop new therapeutic strategies.
This is a proposal to define a fundamentally new and potentially dominant pathway of airway inflammation involving the p53 homolog p73 acting through regulators of cytokine mRNA stability.
We anticipate that the studies described herein will contribute to our understanding of acute and chronic airway diseases and the development of novel therapies to combat them.
The proposal is divided into four parts: 1.
