INFRAEMPIRE examines the impact of Turkish infrastructural projects on global power dynamics, particularly in the Global South. It explores how these megaprojects create new political identities and visions of the future, contrasting them with historical European colonial practices through an ethnographic lens.
In early European imperialism, trade and resource exploitation financed lavish building projects in metropolitan centers and fueled further colonial expansion.
