This project focuses on developing advanced cell models for studying neuromuscular disorders by creating innervated 3D-tissue-engineered skeletal muscles. Utilizing human-induced pluripotent stem cells, the project aims to enhance the understanding of these disorders and facilitate therapeutic development.
Neuromuscular disorders (NMDs) encompass a diverse group of diseases that severely impact patients' quality of life and reduce life expectancy.
Despite the urgent need, only a handful of these disorders are currently treatable.
