This project focuses on cholangiocarcinoma, a challenging cancer, and aims to develop a 3D modeling platform to optimize cold atmospheric pressure plasma treatment. By enhancing understanding of plasma-tumor interactions, the project seeks to improve treatment precision and minimize damage to healthy tissues.
Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is an aggressive cancer with a poor prognosis, requiring complete resection for a chance at a cure.
Cold atmospheric pressure plasma (CAPP) has emerged as a promising, localized treatment that minimizes damage to healthy tissue, unlike chemo- and radiotherapy.
However, the interaction between CAPP and tumors remains poorly understood, particularly in controlling electric fields and reactive species during treatment.
