Blue Snow is an innovative system designed to optimize the speed of ski resort ropeways based on real-time queue data, reducing energy consumption and improving user experience. By using thermal cameras to monitor waiting times, it adjusts gondola speeds to match demand, enhancing efficiency.
Despite the huge amount of electrical energy needed to move a ropeway up to a mountain, higher as faster it turns, all around the globe they keep turning at the same nominal speed regardless how many people are waiting for boarding.
