This project studies the impact of aging on gut microbiota and cognitive functions. By transferring gut microbiota between young and aged mice, it aims to uncover how these changes affect cognitive decline and stress hormone levels, potentially leading to probiotic treatments.
Aging drives cognitive impairment and general health demise increasing the susceptibility to neurodegenerative disorders in healthy individuals.
