This project investigates the acoustic properties of cricket wings to inform the design of miniature loudspeakers. By combining bioacoustics and advanced imaging techniques, it aims to enhance sound production technologies.
Crickets and bush-crickets use their wings to produce a wide range of often impressively loud courtship songs highly variable in pitch and temporal patterns.
