IronHeart aims to improve our understanding of Mercury's internal structure and evolution by conducting experiments to determine its core and mantle compositions, providing insights into the planet's formation and its similarities with Earth.
Mercury is a metal-rich planet from which Earth-based and spacecraft data were collected.
Our understanding of its interior structure and thermochemical evolution is however still relatively poor.
