This project aims to enhance integrated sensing and communication technologies for next-generation networks. By exploring shared scatterers in communication and sensing channels, it seeks to improve performance and reliability in applications like smart cities and transport systems.
In the next-generation millimeter-Wave (mm-Wave) networks, sensing is assumed a vital role in various applications, including transport systems, smart cities, and public safety.
Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) is identified as a key technology to achieve ubiquitous sensing with communication systems, where the convergence of sensing and communication functionalities on shared hardware holds the promise of reduced costs, enhanced spectral and energy efficiency, and reduced latency.
