This project investigates the role of KDM4 demethylases in human embryonic development. By studying these enzymes, it aims to understand how they affect embryonic cell competency and plasticity, which is crucial for addressing pregnancy-related disorders.
During the first two weeks of human development, the embryo will generate sequentially progenitors of the extraembryonic membranes that will form the supportive tissues of the embryo proper.
