KINOPTIM is developing a technology-driven fall prevention service for the elderly, integrating ICT and virtual reality. The project aims to create a comprehensive management system that promotes healthy behaviors and reduces fall risks through innovative assessments and training.
Falls are prominent among the causes of unintentional injury, particularly for the elderly.
According to WHO, 28-35% of people aged of 65 and above fall each year increasing to 32-42% for those over 70. ICT is an excellent tool for addressing the situation briefly sketched above therefore KINOPTIM will develop, integrate and pilot an infrastructure for the implementation of a comprehensive fall prevention and holistic management service by means of innovative use of technology.
