KINTSUGI investigates how the lungs maintain resilience against air pollution and other stressors. By focusing on airway submucosal glands, the project aims to understand their role in lung health and develop models to study their function under various conditions.
Air pollution, exacerbated by heatwaves and wildfires, affects primarily the lungs, leading to potentially life-threatening effects eluding conventional treatments.
