This project investigates the immune-modulating effects of Lactobacillus plantarum extracellular vesicles for treating and preventing airway allergies. It involves detailed characterization of these vesicles and testing their efficacy through both laboratory and animal models.
The aim of the project is to conduct basic scientific research on the immunomodulatory properties of Lactobacillus plantarum (L. plantarum) extracellular vesicles in terms of their applicability in the treatment/prevention of airway allergies.
The project assumes a comprehensive characterization of vesicles, starting from the description of their physicochemical properties, through in vitro tests using respiratory epithelial cell lines, to in vivo tests on mouse models of airway allergy.
