This project aims to enhance the discovery potential of the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment at the Large Hadron Collider by developing a real-time data analysis system. It targets the 99% of data currently discarded, using advanced anomaly detection techniques to identify unconventional physics signals.
Despite having analysed of over 300 inverse femtobarns of data from the CMS experiment at the LHC, no evidence for New Physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) has been found.
Yet, the SM is understood to be an effective theory, and a more fundamental theory is expected at smaller scales.
