This project develops a method for creating 3D cell-culture matrices that mimic natural tissue environments. By using laser-induced polymerization, it aims to enhance understanding of cell-matrix interactions and their impact on cell behavior.
Traditional 2D cell culture systems used in biology do not accurately reproduce the 3D structure, function, or physiology of living tissue.
Resulting behaviour and responses of cells are substantially different from those observed within natural extracellular matrices (ECM).
