This project aims to identify foundational skills necessary for effective reading through a longitudinal study of children from preschool to grade 2. It will analyze how orthographic learning impacts reading efficiency, particularly for typical and dyslexic readers.
Reading is the single most transferable skill taught in the elementary school years; it is the foundation for academic learning, economic contribution, and societal participation.
