This project investigates the role of dust clouds in charge separation and lightning in low-mass celestial objects. It aims to model the interactions of dust and plasma to understand atmospheric ionization and its implications for the chemistry and detectability of these objects.
This project will investigate the hypothesis that dust clouds are a major source of charge separation and discharge processes in very low mass, extrasolar objects like M-dwarfs, Brown-Dwarfs, and planets.
