This project investigates the role of long intergenic non-coding RNAs in the development of intestinal stem cells. By identifying and studying these lincRNAs, the project aims to enhance understanding of stem cell biology and their potential implications in cancer diagnostics and therapy.
Studies on long intergenic non-coding RNAs (lincRNAs) suggest an important role in development and cancer, however, functional lincRNAs in adult stem cells have been rarely defined.
This project will study the role of lincRNAs in development of intestinal stem cell (ISC) one of the well identified adult stem cells.
For this purpose, I will identify lincRNAs that are specifically expressed in ISCs by analyzing transcriptome of sorted ISCs.
