The nature of the Dark Matter (DM) is one of major open questions in modern physics with two interesting candidates: axions and Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs).
Axions arise from extensions of the Standard Model (SM) implementing the Peccei-Quinn mechanism.
