LONGITOOLS focuses on understanding how environmental factors influence non-communicable diseases like obesity and diabetes throughout a person's life. By analyzing extensive longitudinal data, it aims to identify causal relationships between exposures and health outcomes.
Environmental factors, including air and noise pollution, and the built environment, are typically associated with cardiovascular and metabolic non-communicable diseases (NCDs), e.g. obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart diseases and atherosclerosis.
