The MACAO project aims to create compact, real-time instruments for measuring volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and ozone levels in aircraft cabins. By utilizing microfluidic technology, the project addresses safety and operational constraints specific to aviation environments.
The origins of pollutants inside the aircraft cabin are various.
Ozone comes from outside, particularly when the aircraft is flying at high altitudes near the stratospheric ozone layer.
