The MaDAf project explores the history of mental health in West Africa during and after the decolonization period. It aims to analyze the governance of madness, the categorization of mental disorders, and the role of various institutions in shaping societal responses to mental health issues.
Combining multi-site archival work, the MaDAf project will outline a history of madness in West Africa, during the decolonisation period and after independence.
