The MAHEPA project aims to develop low emission propulsion systems for aviation, focusing on hybrid-electric technologies. It explores two variants: one using a hydrocarbon fuel engine and the other utilizing a hydrogen fuel cell, both designed to optimize performance and reduce emissions in small aircraft.
The overall objective of MAHEPA is to bridge the gap between the research and product stage of a low emission propulsion technology to meet the environmental goals for aviation towards the year 2050.
