The MAMI project addresses the challenges of privacy and network functionality by developing a middlebox cooperation protocol. This aims to enhance the transport layer while ensuring user privacy through encryption.
Recent revelations about large-scale pervasive surveillance of Internet traffic have led to a rapidly expanding deployment of encryption in order to protect end-user privacy.
