The MAMMOCARE project aims to enhance breast cancer diagnosis by developing a Positron Emission Mammography-guided biopsy system. This system provides real-time 3D visualization and monitoring of lesions, improving accuracy and efficiency in biopsy procedures, ultimately facilitating earlier detection of breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most frequent cancer among women and one of the leading causes of cancer-related mortality and early diagnosis is essential to reduce the risk of mortality.
