This project seeks to understand the characteristics of water on early Mars by analyzing its presence and behavior during the planet's first billion years. Through interdisciplinary research, it aims to clarify the role of water in shaping Martian geology and its implications for potential life.
Concepts of large bodies of glacial ice and liquid standing water, a robust hydrological cycle, and a rich Martian history of climate change are part of the current consensus model for early Mars.
