The project focuses on enhancing collaboration among various European technology platforms to streamline materials development. By creating the Alliance for Materials, it aims to integrate diverse ideas and accelerate the implementation of innovations in materials science.
Currently, there is a lack of consistent coordination between the activities of the various ETPs, which has led to a diverse range of ideas as to what is important to European materials developments, and consequently a somewhat fragmented support for these developments.
In 2010, a group of ETPs (EuMaT, Suschem, Manufuture, FTC, ESTEP and SMR) with most significant material agenda, came together to create an Alliance for Materials (A4M).
