The MAXBlade project aims to improve tidal turbine blades by increasing their rotor swept area and addressing design and maintenance challenges. This initiative seeks to reduce the cost of tidal stream energy while promoting sustainable practices in blade manufacturing.
The MAXBlade project will specifically focus on delivering a 70% increase in rotor swept area of the technology by addressing design, reliability, condition monitoring, maintenance and control issues relating to tidal turbine blades.
