This project redefines mechanochemistry by challenging the notion that mechanical energy initiates chemical reactions. It proposes a new classification based on mixing, thermal, and mechanical energy, aiming to enhance the understanding and reliability of solid-state chemical processes.
At present, mechanochemistry is transferring an ever-growing number of chemical reactions from conventional wet-chemical procedures into the solid-state environment of ball mills.
