The MECODIHR project investigates how intermediate trophic levels in the ocean, such as zooplankton and micronekton, are influenced by ocean dynamics. It combines remote sensing and modeling to enhance understanding of these organisms' distribution in relation to ocean currents.
The open ocean is the largest biome on Earth, yet it is the least protected. A major obstacle to its conservation lies in the fine-grained understanding of how marine organisms are affected by the ocean dynamics.
