This project explores the functions of the LRRK2 protein, which is linked to Parkinson's Disease, in pigmented melanoma cells. By using gene editing techniques, it aims to identify LRRK2's substrates and its role in melanin production and neuronal health.
LRRK2 is a multi-domain protein, which uniquely possesses both protein kinase and GTPase catalytic activities.
