This research investigates how the hippocampus influences perception by generating predictions based on sensory associations. Using advanced neuroimaging and machine learning techniques, it aims to reveal the neural mechanisms that link memory and perception, enhancing our understanding of cognitive processes.
Perception and memory are intimately linked, yet they are traditionally studied separately, with knowledge gained in one field not significantly impacting the other.
Here, I propose to investigate if and how a canonical memory region, the hippocampus, influences perception.
